With 18 lakes to choose from, you are sure to find the perfect spot to cast a line. You may even find a favorite fishing hole to return to year after year. Age Requirements | Fishing on the Mississippi Location: Mississippi River Visitor Center Fishing rods and tackle boxes can be checked out for free at the Mississippi River Visitor Center. While fishing licenses are required in most Minnesota lakes, no license is required at certain Minnesota State Parks such as Fort Snelling.
